The Monthly Gathering of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura (RACUSJ) for September 2025 took us on an unforgettable journey back in time with the exciting theme “Jurassic World Rebirth.”  Held virtually via Google Meet, the evening was filled with laughter, fellowship, fun and roaring energy that brought the RACUSJ family together.

The session was coordinated by the Finance Committee of RACUSJ with Rtr. Neha Anosh, serving as the moderator for the evening.

The gathering began with traditional proceedings, including the Flag Salutation, Rotaract Invocation, and Rotary Four-Way Test, which grounded the evening in the values that bind the RACUSJ family together. Following this, Club President Rtr. Nethmi Bandara warmly addressed the members, reflecting on the milestones achieved during the month and sharing inspiring words that set a motivating tone for what’s ahead.

The session then continued, with Club Secretary Rtr. Manushi Rathnayake presenting the meeting minutes, providing detailed updates on the club’s activities, and highlighting the incredible work done across all avenues. Her updates captured the progress of ongoing projects and upcoming plans, showcasing the effort, teamwork, and dedication that powered RACUSJ.

Following her speech, each avenue shared the Avenue Announcements, where directors shared updates, achievements, and upcoming initiatives from their respective teams. It was a great moment for members to see how each avenue continues to grow and contribute toward the club’s larger vision.

Then came one of the most anticipated moments, the Recognition of the members. The title of “Rotaractor of the Month” was proudly awarded to Rtr. Shashini Kuruppuarachchi from the Community Service Avenue, recognizing her dedication and outstanding efforts. The “Directors of the Month” were Rtr. Thisari Rajamanthri and Rtr. Banula Dulen from the Membership Development Committee, celebrated for their teamwork and leadership. Adding to the celebration, Rtr. Mithun Sampath from the International Service Avenue was named “PR Member of the Month”, and Rtr. Natharie Weragoda, also from the International Service Avenue, was honored as the “Editorial Member of the Month” for her creativity and dedication.

After the recognitions, the atmosphere took a playful turn as everyone dove into the evening’s game, “Guess the Dinosaur!” The game brought a wave of excitement and laughter as members tried to identify different dinosaurs based on riddles and clues. With everyone eagerly participating, the screens were filled with smiles and cheerful energy.

The session also included a warm moment dedicated to members who celebrated their birthdays in September, complete with cheerful wishes and smiles all around. It was a heartfelt reminder of the friendships and fellowship that make RACUSJ feel like one big family.

As the evening came to an end, the laughter and the collective energy left everyone feeling refreshed and inspired. The September Monthly Gathering was more than just an event, it was a celebration of unity, creativity, and the unstoppable spirit of Rotaractors who continue to grow, serve, and make every moment count.
