The Rotaract Fellowship visit which covered the Wayamba province was organized by the Club Service team of the Rotaract District Steering Committee for the year 20/21. On the 5th of September 2020, Rotaractors gathered with much excitement for the very first fellowship visit of the year, at Racecourse by 5.00 am. Four buses were arranged for the journey, which left Racecourse premises around 6.00 am. While travelling, Rotaractors representing different clubs across the country, got to know each other and new friendships were built.
After having breakfast on the way to Kuliyapitiya, buses reached the Faculty of Medicine of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka around 8.45 am. After the registrations, Rotaractors attended the 2nd Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of University of Wayamba where Rtr. Kumuthu Wijayasuriya and her board of directors were inducted before the adjournment of the proceedings which was followed by fellowship. Soon after the event, the buses took off to the Hotel Blue Sky, Kurunegala where the District Council Meeting for the Month of September was organized for the District Council members to brief their upcoming events, while the non-council members were taken on a tour to Athugala Temple.
After the District Council Meeting, the non-council members returned to the destination and were served with lunch while the preparations for the installation was under way. The Joint Installation Ceremony of both Kurunegala and Athugalpura Rotaract Clubs began with great enthusiasm after a brief but great period of fellowship with Rotaractors from various clubs.
It was the 6th Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Kurunegala where Rtr. Pabasara Bandara and his board of directors were inducted as well as the 2nd Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Athugalpura where Rtr. Amanda Embogama and her board of directors were inducted. The event was very enjoyable and lively as some of the newly appointed directors of the Rotaract Club of Kurunegala and the Sirasa Voice Teen star, Amelia Wijesooriya entertained the gathering with outstanding singing performances. There was an after party where the dance floor was opened and the Rotaractors danced their night away for the songs played by the cooled DJ.
After such a tremendous event, the buses left the Hotel Blue Sky premises around 7.30 pm and reached the Racecourse premises around 11.00 pm marking the end of a well-organized visit. With the hope of joining the upcoming fellowship visits, nearly 200 Rotaractors immensely enjoyed the very first fellowship visit of the year.
