The world of design is constantly evolving, and it is important for designers to keep up with the latest trends and technologies. In order to improve the graphic designing and video editing skills of its members, the Public Relations Committee of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura organized the project “Design Warrior 3.0”. This project aimed at providing a platform for the members to learn and enhance their design skills, and the sessions were successfully held on the 28th of August 2022– the graphic designing workshop on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator and on the 22nd of October 2022 – Video editing workshop on Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects with the participation of the club members.
The “Design Warrior 3.0” project consisted of several workshops and training sessions that were conducted by industry experts and professionals; Mr. Isuru Ariyawansha and Rtr. Sanjana Wanigasekara. These workshops covered a range of topics including graphic design fundamentals, typography, colour theory, photo editing, video editing, and animation. The participants were able to learn from the experts and practice their skills in hands-on activities and projects. At the end of the project, there was a graphic design competition and the best design and most popular designs were selected from the submissions. It should be also mentioned that without the support of our Official Silver Sponsor; Wadabima.com and the Official Knowledge Partner; Design.lk, the project could not have achieved its success.
One of the key benefits of “Design Warrior 3.0” project was that it provided an opportunity for the participants to network and collaborate with fellow designers. The project brought together designers from different backgrounds and levels of experience, and this allowed for a rich exchange of ideas and perspectives. Participants were able to share their work and express their creativity while winning cash prizes. Another benefit of the project was that it encouraged participants to develop a growth mindset. By learning new skills and techniques, the participants were able to expand their knowledge and capabilities. They were able to challenge themselves and push their boundaries, and this led to personal and professional growth.
The “Design Warrior 3.0” project had a positive impact on the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura as a whole. By providing opportunities for its members to develop their design skills, the club was able to attract and retain members who are passionate about design. The project also helped establish the club as a hub for design-related activities and events, and this project will likely lead to more collaborations and partnerships in the future.
In conclusion, the “Design Warrior 3.0” project organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura was a success. It provided a platform for its members to learn and enhance their design skills, network and collaborate with fellow designers, and develop a growth mindset. The project had a positive impact on the club as a whole, and it is likely to lead to more design-related activities and events in the future. Overall, the “Design Warrior 3.0” project was a valuable and enriching experience for all its participants.
