In the heart of a compassionate community initiative, the “Diviyata Diviyak 3.0” project, organized by the Community Service Avenue of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura, stands as a lamp of hope and transformation. This multifaceted endeavor unfolds through four transformative phases, each designed to touch lives and foster a nurturing environment for the most vulnerable.
The journey began on the 1st of September 2023, with an awareness session and a donation event for pregnant mothers at the Koralawella North clinic in Moratuwa. This initial phase set the tone for a project deeply rooted in care and enlightenment, offering vital support and knowledge to expectant mothers navigating the complexities of pregnancy.
Transitioning into its second phase, the project embarked on a compelling post series on child rights. Through a detailed exploration of various facets—ranging from the impact of child abuse and family violence on development, to advocating for the rights to education, protection from labor and exploitation, and the essential need for play and recreation—this phase illuminated the critical issues affecting children today.
On the 26th of November 2023, the third phase unfolded with the donation of essential sanitary products to the NawalaGunasekara Orphanage. This thoughtful initiative addressed a fundamental need, ensuring dignity and health for girls in a nurturing environment.
Culminating on the 15th of January 2024, the project’s ambition soared with the painting and renovation of a ward in the district hospital of Piliyandala. This final act of kindness revitalized a crucial space, promising a brighter, more welcoming environment for healing.
“Diviyata Diviyak 3.0” encapsulates the spirit of community service, weaving a arras of support and empowerment through its thoughtful phases, and leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and lives it touches.
