In a heart-warming display of community spirit, the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura organized a book donation drive as part of their School Shine program, aiming to brighten the lives of children through the magic of literature. On the 28th of April 2024, this initiative came to fruition at the Kuttiwala Children’s Library in Dompe, where eager young minds awaited the arrival of new stories and adventures.
The bustling town of Kuttiwala, nestled in the serene landscape of Dompe, became a focal point of communal generosity as individuals rallied together to contribute to the cause. The spirit of altruism was palpable as community members, students, and organizations enthusiastically donated books, recognizing the profound influence of literature in shaping young minds.
As the donation drive gained momentum, anticipation grew for the unveiling of the refurbished children’s library. Volunteers worked tirelessly to organize and categorize the donated books, ensuring that each volume found its place on the shelves. The library, once a modest space, was now transformed into a vibrant hub of learning and imagination, adorned with colorful books spanning various genres and subjects.
