The month of April holds a special place in the hearts of Sri Lankans as it marks the celebration of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, a season filled with joy, togetherness, and cultural traditions. Embracing the festive spirit of Aurudu, the members of the Rotaract Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura came together to celebrate yet another memorable monthly gathering with warmth and enthusiasm.

The RACUSJ Monthly Gathering themed “Aurudu” was successfully held on the 30th of April via Google Meet, bringing together fellow Rotaractors for an evening of fellowship and celebration despite the virtual setting.

The event commenced with the usual Rotaract formalities, setting the tone for the gathering. This was followed by an inspiring address delivered by the President of RACUSJ, who warmly welcomed everyone and appreciated the dedication and commitment shown by the club members throughout the month.

Continuing the proceedings, the Secretary presented the minutes of the previous monthly meeting, providing a brief recap of the club’s past activities and achievements. The gathering then moved on with the avenue updates, where all nine avenues shared their progress, completed projects, and upcoming initiatives, highlighting the active contribution of each avenue towards the success of the club.

Adding excitement to the evening, the outstanding efforts of members were recognized through the announcement of the “Director of the Month” and “Rotaractor of the Month,” celebrating individuals whose dedication and hard work greatly contributed to the club’s growth and activities.

Filled with festive vibes, meaningful updates, and recognition of achievements, the Aurudu-themed monthly gathering concluded smoothly on a cheerful note, strengthening the bond among RACUSJ members and welcoming the new year with unity and positivity.
