The Monthly Gathering of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura (RACUSJ) for August 2025 soared to new heights with an electrifying theme, “The Superman Movie”. Held physically, the gathering brought together Rotaractors for an evening filled with heroic vibes, fellowship, recognition, and celebration. Embracing the power of unity and strength, it was a memorable evening that truly captured the spirit of superheroes among us.

The event was coordinated by the Club Service Avenue of RACUSJ, with Rtr. Thirani Algama, serving as the enthusiastic moderator for the evening. 

The gathering commenced with the traditional Flag Salutation, the Rotaract Invocation, and the Rotary Four-Way Test, reflecting the values and unity of RACUSJ. Club President Rtr. Nethmi Bandara then addressed the attendees, sharing updates on the club’s recent achievements and setting the tone for the evening. 

Following this, Club Secretary Rtr. Manushi Rathnayake provided comprehensive updates on the club’s avenues, showcasing the progress and milestones achieved in August. 

The avenue announcements that followed showcased the diverse range of activities across different committees, each presenting their unique contributions and future plans. These updates highlighted the hard work and dedication of every avenue, reflecting the club’s commitment to driving impactful initiatives. 

One of the most anticipated moments of the evening was the recognition of outstanding members. The “Rotaractor of the Month” award was presented to Rtr. Panchanjali Rajasekara, celebrating her exemplary contributions to the club. Additionally, the “Director of the Month” award was presented to  Rtr. Pasindu Heshan, the Joint Director of Public Relations Committee, acknowledging his exceptional leadership and commitment to the club’s activities. The “Editorial Member of the Month” award was presented to Rtr. Jayani Wikramasinghe, recognizing her consistent creativity and dedication, Meanwhile, the “Public Relations Member of the Month” award was proudly presented to Rtr. Manaal Zainab, celebrating her continued contribution to the club’s PR efforts.

Adding a spark of energy to the August gathering, the fun game “Guess the Superhero” brought out the acting and guessing skills of our members.  Organized by Rtr. Thirani Algama and Rtr. Minuli Rajapaksha, the game turned into a lively and engaging session, filled with laughter, excitement, and a strong sense of camaraderie.

The celebration concluded on a joyful note with heartfelt birthday wishes extended to members celebrating their birthdays in August. This moment of unity and goodwill encapsulated the essence of RACUSJ’s fellowship. 

With a perfect blend of recognitions, updates, and superhero-themed fun, the August 2025 Monthly Gathering brought together the vibrant spirit of the RACUSJ family. The event reflected the enthusiasm, unity, and dedication of its members, leaving everyone energized and ready to take on the exciting journey ahead in the Rotaract year.
