The Monthly Gathering of the Rotaract Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (RACUSJ) for December 2025 was held in the true spirit of the season under the theme “The Giving Spirit of Christmas.” The gathering brought Rotaractors together for an evening filled with fellowship, creativity, and meaningful interaction, perfectly capturing the essence of sharing and togetherness that defines the Christmas spirit. The occasion also served as a warm welcome to the newly appointed Assistant Directors to the RACUSJ family.

The event was organized by the Environmental Service Avenue of RACUSJ and was energetically moderated by Rtr. Deneth Perera, who guided the proceedings with warmth and enthusiasm.

The gathering commenced with the traditional Flag Salutation, followed by the Rotaract Invocation and the Rotary Four-Way Test, reaffirming the core values and unity of RACUSJ. The Club President then addressed the members, reflecting on the club’s progress and expressing appreciation for the dedication and teamwork demonstrated throughout the month.

Subsequently, the Club Secretary presented updates on the club’s avenues, highlighting key activities, achievements, and ongoing initiatives carried out during December. The avenue announcements that followed further showcased the collective efforts of each committee, emphasizing collaboration and service.

One of the most engaging segments of the evening was the interactive group activity designed around the gathering’s theme. Members were divided into groups and challenged to build and decorate snowmen using only paper-based materials. To truly embody the giving spirit, groups were required to share limited tools and resources among themselves. At the end of the activity, each group presented their snowman along with a creative story, reflecting values of generosity, teamwork, and unity. This activity not only encouraged creativity but also strengthened bonds and highlighted the importance of cooperation and sharing.

The gathering also featured a recognition segment where outstanding members were appreciated for their contributions. Awards such as Rotaractor of the Month, Editorial Member of the Month were presented, celebrating commitment and excellence within the club.

The event not only strengthened fellowship among members but also provided a memorable and welcoming experience for the newly appointed Assistant Directors, marking a positive and inspiring end to the year, reaffirming the unity and values of the RACUSJ family.
