The Monthly Gathering of the Rotaract Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (RACUSJ) for February 2026  celebrated the season of connection with the heartfelt theme “Love,” in honor of Valentine’s Day. Held virtually via Google Meet on the 27th of February, the evening was filled with warmth, fellowship, and a sense of belonging that brought the RACUSJ family closer together.

The session was coordinated by the Membership Development Committee of RACUSJ. Rtr. Lakmina Bandara served as the moderator for the evening, keeping the energy high and the transitions seamless.

The gathering began with the traditional proceedings, including the Flag Salutation, Rotaract Invocation, and Rotary Four-Way Test, grounding the evening in the shared values of the club. Following this, the Club President, Rtr. Nethmi Bandara, warmly addressed the members, reflecting on the milestones achieved during the month and sharing inspiring words to motivate the team for the months ahead.

The session continued with the Club Secretary, Rtr. Manushi Rathnayake presenting the meeting minutes, providing detailed updates on club activities and highlighting the dedicated work happening across all avenues.

Following her speech, each avenue then shared their Avenue Announcements, where directors updated the club on recent achievements and upcoming initiatives, showcasing the collective growth of the club’s vision.

One of the most anticipated segments was the Recognition of the members for their outstanding contributions during February. The title of “Rotaractor of the Month” was proudly awarded to Rtr. Rashmi Thilakarathne from the Public Relations Committee for her exceptional dedication. The “Editorial Member of the Month” was awarded to Rtr. Ruchini Arshinsani from the Community Service Avenue, honored for her creativity and hard work.

After the recognition, the atmosphere took a playful turn with the evening’s game: “Guess the movie and song by the emojis.” The game sparked a wave of excitement as members raced to decode the clues, filling the virtual space with laughter and cheerful energy.

The session also included a heartfelt moment dedicated to members who celebrated their birthdays in February, complete with warm wishes and virtual smiles. It served as a beautiful reminder of the friendships and fellowship that make RACUSJ feel like one big family.

As the evening concluded, the collective energy left everyone feeling refreshed and inspired. The February Monthly Gathering was more than just a meeting; it was a celebration of unity and the unstoppable spirit of Rotaractors who continue to serve and make every moment count.
