On the radiant afternoon of September 14th, the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura (RACUSJ) gathered at Piccolo’s Pizzeria & Café, Pannipitiya, to celebrate a defining milestone, 15 years since the club’s chartering. Serāta ’25, organized by the Membership Development Committee, brought together nearly 70 participants in an evening that blended fellowship, celebration, and the rich legacy of RACUSJ. The event began at 4:00 PM, setting the stage for an experience filled with laughter, music, and meaningful reflection.
Welcome Session
The evening began with a warm welcome as nearly 70 participants arrived at Piccolo’s, greeted by personalized souvenirs that marked their place in the RACUSJ family. President Rtr. Nethmi Bandara delivered an inspiring opening speech, reflecting on 15 years of Rotaract spirit and setting the tone for an evening filled with connection, celebration, and legacy.
Memory Lane & Celebration
The compere led an engaging icebreaker session, inviting attendees to share cherished memories from their Rotaract journey. Laughter and nostalgia filled the room, setting the tone for a heartfelt celebration. Then came one of the most symbolic moments of the evening, the cake-cutting ceremony, honoring 15 years of fellowship, leadership, and service. A beautifully crafted video recap followed, taking everyone down memory lane and showcasing RACUSJ’s evolution over the years. As stories flowed, so did the food, served with warmth and fellowship.
Adding depth to the evening were a series of heartfelt speeches delivered by Rtr. Renish Perera, Rtn. Rtr. PP Praneeth Madusanka, Rtr. IPP Akila Weerasuriya, and Rtr. Sandali Mendis. Each speaker reflected on RACUSJ’s journey, shared personal memories, and offered words of encouragement that resonated across generations. Their voices reminded everyone of the club’s enduring values and the impact of Rotaract beyond the moment.
Games & Calypso Vibes
Next came the Character Guess game, sparking friendly competition and plenty of laughs. Meanwhile, a live Calypso session played in the background, adding rhythm and relaxation to the evening. The music blended seamlessly with the chatter, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere.
Music & Reflections
The much-anticipated 6×4 music session took center stage, featuring three incredibly talented performers: Adeesha Udayanga, Imalka Dissanayaka, and Sandeep Lamasuriya, whose vocals and guitar work turned the night into a celebration of sound and soul. Their performances brought emotion, energy, and unity to the gathering. Reflections from past Rotaractors added depth and meaning, bridging generations with wisdom and warmth.
Closing & Capturing the Moment
As the event drew to a close, heartfelt closing remarks wrapped up the evening. Everyone gathered for a group photo, capturing smiles, laughter, and the spirit of unity that defines RACUSJ. These snapshots weren’t just pictures; they were memories frozen in time, celebrating the people who move and thrive.

Serāta ’25 wasn’t just an anniversary; it was a living memory. A celebration of 15 years of legacy, laughter, and the promise of what’s still to come.
