“It’s been ten years since we embarked on a journey of a service, ten years of wonderful memories as a  family and ten years of tremendous success and progress as a club”

After months of preparation and planning, we successfully unveiled the 11th chapter of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura on November 28th, 2021 at the New Senate Boardroom of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The event was organized by the Membership Development Avenue.

The ceremony took place with the presence of many dignitaries- District Rotaract Representative Rtn. Rtr. PP. Akhila  Wijethunga and Immediate Past District Rotaract Representative Rtn. Rtr. Paul Harris Fellow Kasun  Sigera, District Rotaract Chairperson for 2021-22, Rtn. Paul Harris Fellow Marshad Barry, District Youth  Service Chairperson for 2021-22, Rtn. The 10th milestone of our club definitely ought to be celebrated as we got recognized for our eminent efforts and hard work at the 31st Rotaract District Assembly, where we received 10 awards, 5 district recognitions, 12 nominations, and in addition the club was recognized as the most participative club at the  31st Rotaract District Assembly. These 10 awards include the prestigious award for the most resilient club of the year 2020-2021. We believe that the club accomplished its ultimate goal of serving society and bringing a smile to the faces of others, all while assisting our members in their personal and professional development.

Rtr. Zaina Sallay presented the annual report with such humbleness and pride, which was evident in her confident tone as she recounted each and every accomplishment and memory we made as a family over the past year, bringing a proud smile to everyone’s face who was fortunate enough to share a moment of the short but wonderful journey. To emphasize the historic occasion,  a video was shown that included a flashback of all the memories summed up into a short trailer. Rtr. Zaina  Sallay, Secretary, presented Rtr. Amasha Sirimanna, President, with a token of appreciation for her efforts and support throughout the year. It was a heartwarming sight to see the club cherishing the strong bond formed through ups and downs, and it was then time for Rtr.
