Orientation Program of the Management Faculty

The backbone of any club is its member base. Since the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura is well aware of that fact, they were much more interested in spreading awareness about the club and its operations at the Orientation Programme held for the new undergraduates of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce of University of Sri Jayewardenepura on the 31st of October 2017 in order to give them the opportunity to spread their wings and enjoy the immense benefits granted by the club to its members.

The session was commenced by the Treasurer, Rtr. Piyumi Rajapakse who is known to be very interactive with her audience. She briefed about what RACUSJP is and what RACUSJP does and provoked enthusiasm within 1200+ young minds to be a part of this massive movement. Next, Rtr. Dhanangja Perera addressed the gathering to recall and share her own Rotaract experience during the very few months she spent. She also highlighted how far Rotaract took her and how Rotaract supported her to take a giant leap in her life within a very short time period.

This was followed by a short video which took the audience down the memory lane of Rotaract Diaries during the few months spent in the current Rotaract year which is 2017/2018. This was a key factor which contributed to inspire the gathering to join with Rotaract.

The next in line was a sum up of all ideas expressed within the session by the President, Rtr. Samudya Amarasinghe. He brought into attention every key detail in brief and also emphasized the countless advantages anyone could get by simply being an active Rotaractor. This enabled us Rotaractors to get even closer to the young hearts and revitalize the energy of novelty to make a valuable investment for both the club and themselves and to the country at large.

Rtr. Piyumi Rajapakse took over the session for the second time to guide the gathering on how to enrol themselves as a part of this collective effort. The crowd was also requested to hit a like to the official Facebook page of RACUSJP and all these were demonstrated via a short video. With that, the proceedings for the day were called to an end.

The Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura hosted this session in a selfless attempt to extract the hidden capabilities of young blood and to spread out the values of Rotaract to a wider community to enable them to get together and make things happen despite the creed or culture and “to reach out and make things bright”.
