They say that the hardest thing is not to be alone, but to be forgotten by the family and loved ones is what we are afraid to suffer. These people who have been forgotten by the children, by the family and loved ones have left alone in a corner and looked after by some kind-hearted people. They are broken and weak. They are the ones who once cared a lot about their children, but unfortunately not cared back. As Rotaractors we promise to help each other and that’s why we thought of meeting those lonely souls and spending an evening with them.
SMILE is a project which is organized by the Community Service avenue of Rotaract club of USJP annually. Giving a smile to the people in need is the main goal of this project. This year’s project was focused on the Elders in the “Mawpiya Upahara Home for Elders” in Pannipitiya. The Project was held on 23rd of September.
About 20 Rotaractors joined this project on the day and many others contributed before. The evening was spent with them by singing old hits and chatting with them. A small tea party was also organized for them by the club.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed even by a word and you all deserve the smile we received back.
