Paduru party’18, a musical extravaganza organised by the Rotaract club of university of Sri Jayewardenepura, was successfully held on 3rd of November, Saturday evening at the Lions club Activity Centre, Rajagiriya. The event was organised with the objective of sharing the traditional music of Sri Lanka giving out an opportunity to show case talents, and to have fun and cherish memories of a night to remember. These objectives were successfully achieved with the commitment of the amazing organizing committee.

Members from Rotaract club of university of Sri Jayewardenepura, members from many other Rotaract clubs, as well as non-Rotaractors joined this to make this a glamourous night. The beautiful decorations according to the theme of Lotus flower added a unique beauty to the event. Paduru party commenced with the open mic session where some registered participants sang amazing songs for the music provided by the band “Golden Calypso”. A beautiful dance item by some of the members of the organizing committee added more colour to the event.

Most happening item of the paduru party was selecting the paduru king and the paduru queen. Some selected participants were given some instant scenarios and asked them to act out how they are going to face them, through which most talented couple was selected as the paduru king and the paduru queen. They were awarded with beautiful gifts. Then they had to do a dance together as paduru king and queen, which everyone really enjoyed.

Participants were offered dinner and also there was a stall by “Snow Monkey”, giving the opportunity for them to refresh themselves. It was a great chance for the participants to enjoy a night with their closest friends as well as to make some new friends. Finally paduru party was concluded with the fun filled baila session conducted by the band, THE HOUSE of Rotaract club of Panadura. Each and every one enjoyed singing and dancing to the beautiful music of them. Impulse partnered with Rotaract club of university of Sri Jayewardenepura in capturing the beautiful moments of the entire event from the beginning to the end.

Paduru party’18 was ended as a fun filled night adding many more memories to remember till the paduru party’19 with the immense contribution from the members of the organizing committee, other members of the club, each and every participant, musical bands, photographers and everyone who joined with the event through different aspects. Paduru party’18 was added to this year’s event calendar of Rotaract club of university of Sri Jayewardenepura as another successful event.
