The 9th Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura concluded successfully on the 16th of August 2019 at the Science Auditorium of Faculty of Applied Sciences of University of Sri Jayewardenepura with the presence of the District Rotaract Representative Rtr. PP Krishan Balaji, Guest of Honour Rtn. PHF Nelu Fernando and a participation of nearly 150 Rotarians, Rotaractors, friends and family.

Respecting the Sri Lankan traditions and culture, the 9th Installation Ceremony commenced with the lighting of the oil lamp followed by the National Anthem, University Anthem, Rotaract formalities and the Rotaract song. The gathering was warmly welcomed by the Project Chairperson Rtr. Supuni Aluthge.

The outgoing Secretary Rtr. Saranga Madurasinghe presented the Annual Report to the gathering while highlighting the remarkable club projects that RACUSJP completed throughout the Rotaract year 2018/19. The year re-cap video showed the outstanding projects that were successfully completed and how the club members enjoyed their time throughout the journey. She thanked all the members for the dedication and commitment rendered towards the club to make the year 2018/19 undoubtedly an amazing year in RACUSJP history.

Immediate Past President Rtr. Oshani Singapuliarachchi shared her experiences and memories she gained while serving as the 8th President of the club throughout the past year. She took it as an opportunity to appreciate her Board of Directors, friends and family for being with her and supporting her through thick and thin, after which Rtr. Oshani Singapuliarachchi, without whom the club would not have reached to such great heights signed off as the 8th President of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

The climax of the evening was the collaring of the incoming President Rtr. Vidushith Jayasundara as it marked the dawn of a new era for the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He introduced his Board of Directors for the year 2019/20 who were ready to strive for a change.

District Rotaract Representative Rtr. PP Krishan Balaji addressed the gathering by congratulating the Immediate Past President Rtr. Oshani Singapuliarachchi and her board for making the year 2018/19 a splendid one for RACUSJP and he expressed his best wishes to the newly appointed committee as well.

The Guest of Honour for the day, President of the Rotary Club of Battaramulla, Rtn. PHF. Nelu Fernando added more glory to the event with his wonderful presentation based on the origin of the Rotaract movement. He also enlightened the gathering about the benefits of being a Rotaractor.

Newly appointed President Rtr. Vidushith Jayasundara and his board was showered with heartiest felicitations from the fellow rotaractors. The hour long amount of felicitations guaranteed how much Rtr. Oshani Singapuliarachchi and her team worked to make RACUSJP shine bright.

The conclusion of the 9th Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura was marked with the vote of thanks delivered by the newly appointed Secretary Rtr. Dulani BandulaHewa who expressed her sincere gratitude to everyone who took an immense effort to be a part of the ceremony despite their busy schedules. The President Rtr. Vidushith Jayasundara terminated the proceedings of the 9th Installation Ceremony for fellowship and refreshments.
