The President of the club, together with the Board of Directors marked the 9th Charter Day Celebrations of the club by partaking in a Bodhi Pooja ceremony organized at the Sunethra Maha Devi International Buddhist Centre on the 1st of September. The objective was to receive blessings for the club for its upcoming events and success.

The official celebrations of the club birthday were held on the 8th of September 2019 at the University premises with the presence of District Rotaract Representative-Rtr. PP. Krishan Balaji, Guide Club Coordinator-Rtr. Naduni Madumali, our Past Presidents, our current and past members.

The event was organized by the Member Relations Committee and the highlight of the event was the tree planting at the university premises in commemoration of the Charter Day of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

Rtr. Rajitha Lakshan, project chairperson and Rtr. Zaina Sallay from the Organizing Committee of the project welcomed the gathering. Words of advice, wisdom, their experiences and knowledge were shared by the invitees which made it wholly worthwhile to be present there in the audience.

This celebratory event was filled with reminiscing speeches. Fun activities were orchestrated which provided a nice getaway from the monotonous everyday life. The Charter Day cake was cut by the current President-Rtr. Vidushith Jayasundara.

The programme concluded with a positive note and the gathering dispersed with the happiest of smiles.
