It was the last week of February where everyone in town was busy getting ready for the most awaited night. Even His Majesty the King together with his Queens were looking forward to this glamorous night ‘The Paduru Party 2020’.

Paduru Party 2020, the night that every folk in town was talking about happened on Saturday the 22nd of February 2020. It happened on the Tranquil rooftop of Paramount Tower but definitely aroused by the music, dancing and the pretty ladies who made the night even more alluring.

This graceful night was organised by the Club Service Avenue of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura in order to build a long-lasting and a strong bond between the club members and to add up a little colour to the club’s public image.

As a result, the bond with other Rotaract clubs and Rotaractors were enhanced and strengthened. It should be noted that the profit which was earned by conducting the night was solely retained for funding future Community Service projects.

Heading on to the interesting facts, the Paduru Party commenced at 6.30 pm with group of Rotaractors, Non-Rotaractors and even parents rushing to the premises. The atmosphere was filled with the talents of our guest performers which filled the premises with their exclusive touch of music. Minura Halwathura, Sarah Hettiarachchi, Dakum Jayamanne, Hirushka Dissanayake, Minusha Weerakkody and Ruvin Anthony Perera were those extremely talented artists who dedicated their night to boost up the energy level with their most elegant voices. Also, these artists were backed up by the cherished tunes of ‘The House Band’ and ‘Largo Entertainment’ which enhanced these voices even further that made the crowd find it impossible to keep their feet still on the dance floor. The night would’ve never been possible without the Golden Sponsorship granted by the Bank of Ceylon which indeed contributed to the success of this night.

As the night started to punch, there came His Majesty the King arrived to offer his help to choose the Paduru Kumaraya and the Paduru Kumari out of all the handsome gentlemen and the alluring ladies out there. It was the job of three past members of the Executive Committee of our very own Rotaract Club to crown the Paduru Kumaraya and the Paduru Kumari.

After a well entertaining pageant with a mixture of dance performances, the Paduru Kumaraya and the Paduru Kumari was crowned. They were also granted with an exciting pack of gifts sponsored by Woah Beauty Box, Celcius and Amberry.

The pageant concluded opening up the dancing floor where the King and his beautiful Queens invited everyone gathered around to dance. Next, it was time for the most indulging food and beverages that satisfied the taste buds of the crowd. Everyone was seen enjoying the night listening to music and dancing to the beat.

Flexus being the Official Photography Partner of the event put up an amazing photo booth where the ladies and the gentlemen were busy posing throughout to make lasting memories. Paduru Party was indeed a glamorous night where most of the Past Presidents and Alumni of our Club were reunited.

The endless music and the baila session continued till late night as the crowd was ever so reluctant to leave the premises. After having a great time with music, dancing and fellowship the night ended with life long memories and bonds made and of course with hopes in all participants to join once again with Paduru Party 2021.
