“TRIWIZARD” was a virtual three phased project, which was organized by the Club Service Avenue of the Rotaract Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The main objectives of this initiative was to enhance the bond between the club members and their friends and letting everyone feel the joy and happiness despite the current situation of the country.
The first phase of the project was a “Triwizard Championship”. There were three challenges, and more than 25 participants took the place to face the challenges under 8 teams. The first game, “virtual charades” was held on 21st of May 2021 and all the teams enjoyed the game. In the second game, the teams were given two tasks. First one was to get the highest likes on their Instagram post and secondly create new different subtitles for the “Harry Potter” theme memes.
The third game was an amazing quiz related to the club’s projects. Throughout these three challenges Rotaractors got involved with Literato Facebook page, Someone’s Daughter Facebook page, Official Rotaract Instagram and Facebook pages and the blog site favourably. After an enthusiastic gaming period, they have to wait until the “Triwizard Ceremony” to get to know about the champions.
Through Rotaract we not only found friends but also a family that will last for a lifetime. Though we couldn’t interact physically, all the memories and bonds we created was precious. In the second phase, remembering the international family day, we did a photo challenge alone with “#FamilyinRotaract” and “#UnbreakableBondChallenge” hashtags. More than 50 Rotaractors took a part in this challenge and were posted their memorable pictures within the Rotaract journey.
While we are in the pandemic period, we couldn’t forget our heroes who are fighting against the COVID-19. Since we were remembering the International Family Day, as a third phase of the Triwizard Project we took out a moment to appreciate the service of all the unsung heroes and keep aware the society about the dangerousness of this pandemic through the PR campaign.
Our club members were joined with this phase with their family members to emphasize that every frontline worker give their full commitment for this fight rather than thinking of their own family members.
As the concluding session of the project, “Triwizard Ceremony” was held on 28th of May 2021 from 5.00 p.m. onwards. The event was commenced with a warm welcome which has been given by Rtr. Amasha Sirimanna: the president of the Rotaract Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The ceremony was organized with so many memorable games for everyone in the club. More than 70 Rotaractors have participated in the event via the zoom platform. It was an amazing experience for all of us. After all the games, the winners of the Triwizard Championship were chosen. “Team Dumbledore’s Army, Team Phoenix and Team IS Fam won the first, second and third places, respectively.
The moderater for the day was Rtr. Surani Hewage and all the games were guided by Rtr. Nethmi Wimalasena and Rtr. Nayanajith Athukoralage. Rtr. Nipuni Rajapaksha added more colors to the event by singing the mashup song. Thus, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us to make this event a success.
Since we are in a critical situation, we could not meet our Rotaract family physically. Somehow through these virtual projects, The Club service avenue gave their best to strengthen the fellowship and bonds between the club members. After having a great time with our very own Rotaractors, the project Triwizard ended with lifelong memories and bonds and of course with a hope of meeting again everyone physically.
