“4 Score 5.0” is a project organized by the Sports and Recreational Activities Avenue of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura, the most awaited annual inter-club cricket tournament, for the fifth consecutive year, in an effort to strengthen the ties we share with all the clubs at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura with the aim of strengthening the fellowship among participants and to motivate athletes to become the better version of themselves.
This project mainly focussed on giving inter-university club members a chance to socialize with one another, foster a sense of community among the participants, give cricket players a stage on which to display and develop their skills, develop good sportsmanship and communication skills in interpersonal relationships, enhance and demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and time management abilities and encourage sportsmen to develop into themselves in a better light.
This cricket match happened at University Stadium on May 27, 2023. The event, which began at 8 am lasted the entire day, and was attended by more than 80 people. Seven teams participated in the tournamnet that day and among them were CSDS of University of Sri Jayewardenepura, AIESEC in USJ, J’pura Vikings, Leo Club of District 306 A2 USJ, J’pura Flames, J’pura Voice and Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura. We believe this project has been completed successfully. Holding such a cricket match also provided university students who were bogged down in their academics with a different experience and mental freedom.
