Every year, the week of March 13 is when the World Rotaract Week takes place. This week, Rotaractors all around the world celebrate the founding of the Rotaract International Youth Movement by concentrating on the day the first Rotaract Club was established. The Rotaractors of University of Sri Jayewardenepura also celebrated this week.
The Membership Development Committee of RACUSJ prepared an amazingly wonderful initiative called “Viva La Rotaract” for this year’s Rotaract Week celebration, where the members of the organization came together to celebrate and remember their experiences in Rotaract. While providing the participants with incredible experiences and lifelong memories, the project’s main goal was to promote awareness of Rotaract.
The project had two phases aimed at promoting awareness of Rotaract and creating lasting memories for the participants.
In the first phase, the Membership Development Committee of RACUSJ published a series of articles focusing on various topics related to Rotaract in the official blog of RACUSJ. These articles covered the history of the Rotaract movement as well as of RACUSJ, Avenues of the club, famous Rotaract personalities, and the benefits of being a Rotaractor. The purpose of this series was to provide a deeper understanding of the Rotaract movement and inspire more young people to join this international movement of leadership and service.
The second phase of the project was the ultimate Rotaract buddy challenge. During this phase, all the Rotaractors were encouraged to post a photo on their Facebook and Instagram accounts that represented their favourite Rotaract moment with their Rotaract buddies. They also nominated their friends to participate in the challenge. Many Rotaractors embraced the challenge and shared memorable postings, highlighting the wonderful experiences they had throughout their Rotaract journeys. This phase aimed to create a sense of reliving those incredible occasions and to generate excitement about being a part of Rotaract.
Overall, the Viva La Rotaract project was a great success. It provided RACUSJ members with the opportunity to celebrate and remember their experiences in Rotaract, while also promoting awareness of the organization. The project allowed participants to create new memories and enjoyable experiences, fostering a sense of camaraderie among the Rotaractors. With the successful completion of this project, the organizers are now looking forward to continuing to provide wonderful and productive opportunities for their beloved Rotaractors.
