The Rotaract Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (RACUSJ) held its Monthly Gathering for the month of February, on the 27th of February 2025 at the C2 Hall, Faculty of Applied Sciences, from 5:00 PM onwards. With “Valentine’s Day” as the theme, the evening was all about good vibes, laughter and full of joy!

The Public Relations Committee took the lead in organizing this month’s monthly gathering, with Rtr. Ruveena Gamage setting the tone as the energetic moderator. 

The gathering started with the usual formalities, the National Anthem, Flag Salutation, Rotaract Invocation, Rotaract Four-Way Test, and the Rotaract Song. After the formalities, the Club President Rtr. Akila Weerasuriya took the stage reflecting on the club’s achievements, ongoing projects, and promising future projects, while appreciating the hard work of everyone during the year so far. Following this, Club Secretary Rtr. Nithara Dias, shared a detailed update on each committee and avenue, recognizing the hard work of RACUSJ members.

The event continued with avenue updates, covering everything from Club Service Avenue to Sports & Recreational Activities Avenue, showcasing all the amazing projects happening within the club. 

One of the most anticipated moments of the evening was the recognition of outstanding members for the month. Rotaractor of the Month was awarded to Rtr. Piyumi Liyanage, for her remarkable contributions to the club. And the Directors of the Month was awarded to Rtr. Nithila Iriyagolla & Rtr. Nimesh Fernando, for their exceptional leadership and dedication.

As no gathering is complete without a fun segment, Rtr. Sevin Senevirathne and Rtr. Ruveena Gamage hosted a Valentine’s Day themed game using a deck of cards, keeping everyone engaged and entertained. The night ended with some amazing titles like the “Best Couple” and the jest title of “Best Donkey of the Day” being selected. The laughter and excitement made this one of the best parts of the evening!

The evening also included a special birthday celebration for directors who had birthdays on February, followed by a group photo capturing the joy and unity of the RACUSJ family.

Overall, the Monthly Gathering of February 2025 was the perfect mix of appreciation and pure fun, leaving everyone with great memories and even more excitement for what’s ahead!
