The Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura (RACUSJ) held its Monthly Gathering for the month of March on the 27th of March 2025 at the SBGF 2 Hall, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, starting from 5:30 PM onwards. Adding to the significance of the month, the gathering also included a celebration of Iftar.

The Sports and Recreational Activities Avenue took the lead in organizing this month’s gathering, with Rtr. Piumi Liyanage setting the tone as the enthusiastic moderator.

The gathering commenced with the usual formalities, including the National Anthem, Flag Salutation, Rotaract Invocation, Rotaract Four-Way Test, and the Rotaract Song. Following the formalities, the Club President, Rtr. Akila Weerasuriya, took the stage to reflect on the club’s achievements, ongoing projects, and promising future initiatives while appreciating the hard work and dedication of the members throughout the year.

Subsequently, the Club Secretary, Rtr. Nithara Dias, provided a comprehensive update on each committee and avenue, acknowledging the relentless efforts of RACUSJ members.

One of the highlights of the evening was the recognition of outstanding members. The Rotaractor of the Month award was presented to Rtr. Piumi Madubashini for her remarkable contributions to the club. Additionally, the Director of the Month award was given to Rtr. Renish Perera in recognition of exceptional leadership and dedication.

As the evening progressed, the gathering embraced the spiritual and cultural significance of Iftar. The fast was broken with a lovely spread of food including dates, various savory food items & beverages, and after the prayers, Rtr. Arshaaq Amaan took a moment to explain the significance of Iftar, offering insightful reflections on its meaning and importance.

The evening concluded with a group photo, capturing the joy and unity of the RACUSJ family.

Overall, the Monthly Gathering of March 2025 was the perfect blend of appreciation, cultural celebration, and togetherness, leaving everyone with great memories and even more excitement for what’s ahead!
