“Empower. Transform. Inspire. Venture Voice—shaping futures, one phase at a time.”

In a world where personal growth and professional excellence go hand in hand, the Rotaract Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura launched Venture Voice, a transformative initiative designed to equip individuals with the tools to thrive in life and work. This impactful project unfolded across three empowering phases: Skill Up, Style Up, and Speak Up. Here’s a glimpse into how these phases created waves of change.

Phase 1: Skill Up – Building the Foundations of Professional Growth

Venture Voice kicked off the project with Skill Up, focusing on enhancing professional expertise through two targeted workshops:  

– CV Writing Workshop: Held on 11th October, this workshop was led by Ms. Binuri Yoshika, a lecturer in English Language Teaching in the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Participants were guided through the intricacies of creating impactful resumes, ensuring their first impression in the corporate world would stand out.  

– LinkedIn Optimization Workshop: Conducted on 28th October, Ms. Chathurika Gunewardhene, Head of Global HR, shared strategies for building an impressive LinkedIn profile. The session empowered attendees to network effectively and establish a strong online presence.

– Professional Grooming & Dining Etiquette Video Series: A video series was carried out by the Organizing Committee to spread valuable knowledge about the importance of professional grooming and how to carry themselves in the professional environment & a video on dining etiquette to make a well equipped employee in a work environment

Skill Up laid the groundwork for professional success, ensuring participants had the tools to shine in competitive environments.

Phase 2: Style Up – Confidence Through Movement

The second phase, Style Up, was all about blending confidence and charisma through the art of social dancing. Held on 7th November, this Social Dancing Workshop was conducted by the renowned choreographer, Mr. Kevin Nugara. Participants learned not only the rhythm of the dance but also the rhythm of self-assurance and elegance.  

This phase reinforced that style isn’t just about appearance—it’s about how you carry yourself, communicate, and connect with others.

Phase 3: Speak Up – Inspiring Change Through Dialogue

The grand finale of Venture Voice, Speak Up, culminated with the Model United Nations (MUN) Conference endorsed by SLMUN. This phase allowed participants to step into the shoes of global diplomats, debate critical issues, and present innovative solutions.  

Speak Up celebrated the power of communication, collaboration, and leadership. It demonstrated the value of voicing ideas effectively to inspire change and address global challenges.

With the above phases described, it is clear that Venture Voice was more than a project; it’s a transformative experience that empowers individuals to unlock their potential. Through skill-building, style-enhancing, and confidence-boosting initiatives, this project has equipped participants to navigate the complexities of today’s world.

The Rotaract Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura has once again proven its dedication to fostering leaders of tomorrow. As Venture Voice continues to resonate in the hearts of its participants, it serves as a shining example of how community-driven projects can transform lives and inspire futures.
