“Holi-Fied’19”, a festive evening filled with colors and happiness organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the Interact Club of Thurstan College was held on the 14th of December at Thurstan College grounds Colombo. The event was organized as a fund raiser for the Community Service project “For Them to Blossom” which consists of 4 phases.
The event went on for more than 3 hours starting off with a DJ session which made the crowd excited and enthusiastic.
The event was open to both Rotaractors and non-Rotaractors. Members of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Interact Club of Thurstan College, fellow Rotaract and Interact clubs and non-Rotaractors were present at the event to enjoy some good music, dance and food. The DJ session was followed by fun games including water balloon passing which made the participants drench in coloured water.
The real fun began with the splash of colors and water. Participants were given holi powder and water balloons which made their near and dear ones deluge with coloured powder and water. All hearts were intoxicated with pleasure by dancing together to the DJ music of Shylow and S Jay while smearing colors on each other. Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura had provided facilities for the crowd to make memories by capturing the beautiful moments of the entire event from the beginning to the end with their official photographers. Also, participants were given the opportunity to refresh themselves with the Food and Beverage stalls put up within the premises.
HoliFied concluded as another colourful story in the calendars of both the clubs. The organizing committee successfully conducted this event by not only catering the participants an unforgettable Holi experience but also improving the spirit of unity and friendship among participants which is the real essence of a Holi event.
