The air buzzed with excitement as the Rotaract Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, through its Club Service Avenue and Finance Committee, prepared for the spectacular event – “A Memorable December 4.0.” On December 22, 2023, Lounge 42 in the DHPL Building, Colombo 02, radiated with festive charm, welcoming Rotaractors for an evening of joy, camaraderie, and merriment that commenced at 6.00 pm.

The holiday cheer initiated with the heartwarming “Secret Santa,” an affectionate Christmas card exchange that saw Rotaractors sharing delightful cards, spreading love and friendship incognito. The element of surprise heightened the joy, as participants eagerly awaited cards from mysterious senders. Transitioning seamlessly from the heartwarming “Secret Santa,” the festive spirit permeated the venue. Twinkling lights, tinsel, and the luminous star atop the Christmas tree adorned the space, creating an enchanting atmosphere that captivated all who attended. Moonlight filtered through the windows, casting a warm glow on the proceedings, as the holiday haven awaited the magic of the night.

The evening unfolded with a stellar lineup of artists, setting the stage ablaze with enchanting vocals and melodies. Isuru Hiran Mullegama, Nidarsha Amarathunga, Dasith Jayasinghe, Sisira Rathnayake, Savindi Thalagala, and Anagi Manukulasooriya took the spotlight, creating a musical ambiance that resonated with the festive cheer.

The celebration continued with the engaging game “Pass the Hat,” where participants danced to the rhythm, passing the hat as the music played. Laughter and cheers filled the air, making it an engaging and joyful experience for everyone. The event also featured a thrilling raffle draw, where luck smiled upon fortunate winners walking away with sponsored gifts from Vision Care, the official gold sponsor, and Janet, the official gift sponsor.
