As the leaves begin to change and nature embraces a season of transition, the Rotaract Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura welcomed September with a gathering inspired by the warmth, colours, and spirit of Fall.

The September Monthly Gathering, hosted by the Community Service Avenue, brought members together for an evening of fellowship, appreciation, recognition, and a little friendly competition, creating a space to pause amidst the busy Rotaract journey and celebrate the people who continue to make the club vibrant.

The gathering commenced with the customary Flag Salutation, followed by the Rotaract Invocation and the Rotary Four-Way Test, setting the foundation for an evening grounded in the values of fellowship, service, and togetherness.

The formal proceedings continued with an address by the Club President, Rtr. Gaveshna Pelenage, followed by an address by the Club Secretary, Rtr. Sasvi Hapuarachchi. These segments provided members with an opportunity to stay connected with the club’s direction and ongoing journey.

The gathering then moved into the Avenue Announcements, where updates from across the club highlighted the continuous efforts, activities, and initiatives taking place within the different avenues. As Fall represents a season of change and transition, these updates reflected the many ways in which RACUSJ continues to grow, evolve, and move forward together.

One of the highlights of the evening was the recognition of members who stood out through their dedication and contributions throughout the month. The September nominees for Rotaractor of the Month represented several avenues and committees, celebrating the diverse efforts that keep the club moving forward.

The gathering also recognized the September Directors of the Month, with Rtr. Vidun Mohottala and Rtr. Dinithi Thatsarani representing the Sports & Recreational Activities Avenue, alongside Rtr. Lakmina Dulan and Rtr. Pabara Sewmini from the Membership Development Committee.

The appreciation continued with the recognition of the September PR Members of the Month, Rtr. Lahiru Hettiarachchi and Rtr. Maneth Senevirathna, followed by the Editorial Member of the Month, Rtr. Sanudi Imasha from the Community Service Avenue.

After the recognitions, the atmosphere shifted from appreciation to excitement as members stepped into the much-anticipated Game Time. The gathering featured a fun-filled round of “Cartoon Emoji Guess,” where familiar characters and stories were transformed into playful emoji clues, putting everyone’s guessing skills to the test.

Adding another personal touch to the evening, the gathering also celebrated the birthdays of members born in September. The birthday celebration brought members together once again, reminding everyone that beyond projects, meetings, and responsibilities, Rotaract is also about the friendships and memories created along the way.

Much like Fall, which reminds us that every season brings change, growth, and new beginnings, the September Monthly Gathering offered RACUSJ members a moment to reflect on the journey so far while looking ahead to everything still to come.

With meaningful updates, heartfelt recognition, laughter, games, and birthday celebrations, the September Monthly Gathering concluded on a warm and cheerful note, leaving behind another collection of memories to add to the ever-growing story of RACUSJ.
